I adore Avocado, Cilantro, Lime and they are some of my favorite ingredients and this salad dressing has it all!!  The creaminess of the Avocado is a great contrast to the tartness of the lime; with the Cilantro joining the party, it sure is one dynamite dressing.   Not to mention, its beautiful green color makes it even more irresistible.  It is great on salad greens and one of my friends actually likes to eat it with rice too.  Hmm?  I will let you decide on that one.  Some of you may wonder why is this dressing  called Sabrena’s Avocado Cilantro Dressing?  Who is Sabrena anyway?  Allow me to tell you how it all began…… Click Here

What do you like to serve your coleslaw with?   A sandwich, Fried Chickens, or eat it as a salad?  In the south,  coleslaw is commonly served with shredded BBQ pork.  You simply can’t serve shredded BBQ pork sandwiches without a good slaw; however, it is not served as a side.   Instead it is part of the sandwich!!  Coleslaw is piled up on top of the pork and topped with the another piece of bread.  Never heard of it?   Puzzle??  Indeed I was too at first !!.  However, this odd combination started to make sense to me after I tried it a few times.  Think about it, the pork and bun are both soft, so the crunchiness of the slaw provides a great contrast to the texture and another layer of favor.    As much as I like the combo,   I do, however, has some issues with the coleslaw.  Your typical coleslaw is usually really watery and that really grosses me out.  Is it just me?  or do you feel the same way too?  If you do,  let’s me introduce you to your new favorite slaw – this Confetti Coleslaw!!   It has all your favorite characteristics of a good slaw – tart, sweet, and crunchy but without the excess liquid and fat.  It is waterless, healthy, beautiful, crunchy, and most importantly delicious.  Want to see how it is made?  come on over….. Homemade Nutella

Who like Nutella? You, you and you.  I see many of you are raising your hands.  Me too!!!!  Not just me, my whole family is nut about Nutella.   My kids love to eat Nutella with a spoon;  No bread, no cracker, all they need is a spoon.   Is that too much for you?  How about a RPB sandwich? – Reese Peanut Butter sandwiches.   Like making a PB&J, you just replace the strawberry jam with Nutella.   My kids love the RPB sandwiches and can eat them all day long.  Who wouldn’t?  Candy bar in a sandwich!!!  If I let them, they can finish a big bottle of Nutella in one day.  I cannot begin to tell you how many times I find Nutella– stained spoons on my kitchen counter.  If I get a quarter every time I see one, I am already a millionaire!!!!  The truth to the matter is,   I don’t blame them for doing it (the eating part not the dirty spoons part).  Nutella is simply too good.  If  I can,  I would do the same thing.  But why can’t I? Jerky has always been one of my favorite snacks, especially Chinese jerky.    Unlike the jerky in the States, Chinese jerkies are moister and softer; they are not as hard to chew and definitely are more denture friendly ( by the way, not talking from first hand experience).  As a child,  juicy beef and pork jerky were something that always excited me even more so than candies and soda.    Since those jerkies were quite expensive,  they really were rare treats to me.   So, every time when I passed by one of those jerky specialty shops,  my feet would some how slow down their pace so I could savor those delicious jerkies with my eyes and nose.   Did some of you Chinese jerky fans out there did that too? Slow Cook BBQ Pull Pork

What is economical, yummy, and can feed a crowd easily?   Barbecue Pull Pork sandwiches is definitely on my list.   This is my favorite pull pork recipe,  I cook it often when I need to feed a crowd or when my  boys need a fix of their favorite sandwich.   In addition to its deliciousness, it takes very little effort when  a crock pot is used.     To make it more healthy, I trimmed off the excess fat before cooking it and  spoon off the extra fat when the meat was cooked before shredding them.   If  it is too much work or you do not mind the fat, you can even skip this step.  To make it more economical, I used pork butt and put all the basic ingredients of a BBQ sauce instead of an actual store brought BBQ sauce.   I also love the fact this pork retains its taste and texture after it is defrosted;  that means I can make a big batch and save it as back up ready meals.  Love that!!!    It is a perfect  substitute for cold cuts and is a great recipe to feed a crowd.  Speaking of feeding a crowd, I did just that by using this recipe last summer.  I was asked to be one of the cooks in a youth summer camp and guess how many people we fed by using this recipe?
